Nottingham supermarket unveils plans for vacant site

A Nottingham supermarket has unveiled plans to build a new site in Cinderhill. Asiana Hypermarket, a Chinese Oriental supermarket on the city centre border with St Ann's, submitted a planning application on February 27 in the hope of creating a commercial warehouse with two separate units for industrial, storage and distribution purposes.

The warehouse would be built on a vacant patch of land that currently exists behind an Iceland supermarket in Nuthall Road. To the south and south west of the planned development are a series of car garage businesses, as well as the TC Hine Christ Church to the east of the proposed scheme.

The site area is approximately 0.3 acres. The applicant wants to develop the vacant site to create two single-storey commercial units within one structure.

Seven car parking spaces have been proposed. Nottingham City Council is yet to make a decision on the application.

Back in May 2021, the popular Asian supermarket was granted conditional approval to offer a hot food takeaway service from the store. The store, in Woodborough Road, stocks a huge variety of products ranging from countries such as China, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea and India.
