Nottingham Splendour Festival 2023: Dates, headliners, tickets, and how to get there

Nottingham's biggest music festival Splendour is just a month away with more than 40 acts set to take to the stages in Wollaton Park. Once again the 2023 event is spread over two days, on Saturday July 22 and Sunday July 23.

After a record attendance of 20,000-strong crowds each day last year, organisers are hoping once again for a huge turnout.

So who's headlining, what's the price of tickets and how do you get there? We've rounded up everything you need to know right here:

Acts

If you've already snapped up your tickets, you'll already know. But just in case you haven't been following the announcements you're in for a treat with this year's bumper line-up.

Going strong for more than 40 years headliners Madness will be bringing their inimitable form of nuttiness to the stage. Ever since the band appeared at Splendour 2009 they've been a fan favourite and the most requested act by the festival crowd.

With a superlative back catalogue including ‘Baggy Trousers’, ‘House of Fun’, ‘One Step Beyond’ and ‘Our House’, they are a dead cert to get the crowd jumping along to their two-tone beat.

They'll be on the main stage on the Saturday, along with Rudimental, Sugababes, Everything Everything, Venbee, James Marriott, and Girlband. Over on the Confetti Stage rocking some belters will be The Vaccines and Betty Boo is sure to have everyone Doin’ The Do.

Headlining on the main stage on the Sunday is Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. Expect a moving and uplifting performance from Vicky McClure's Our Dementia Choir. Inspiral Carpets, Altered Images and Jake Shears will be warming up the Confetti stage for Eurovision Song Contest star Sam Ryder.

More than 40 acts of varying genres will be performing across five stages. The full fringe line-up has yet to be announced but we'll keep you posted as soon as we find out.

Tickets

All the discounted early bird tickets have sold out. Full price tickets for adults, 11-17-year-olds, VIP and accessible are on sale for one day or both.

An adult general admission weekend ticket costs £102 (plus booking fee). But if you live in the city you're eligible for cheaper entry at £91.80. If you want to take it up a notch to VIP expect to pay £180. Day tickets for adults are priced £61 (£54.90 for city residents).

New this year are youth tickets for 11 to 17-year-olds, priced £67 or £60.30 for city residents for the weekend. A one-day visit costs £41 or £36.90. Admission is free for children aged ten and under. Anyone 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Food and drink

All that singing and dancing is likely to leave you in need of refreshment. The details of food and drink vendors have yet to be announced, but we will keep you posted, and update this as soon as we know.

How to get there

By car

If you're driving there is car parking on site. Follow the yellow Splendour event signs or put NG8 1BT into your navigation system. The car park entrance is off Lime Tree Avenue, off Middleton Boulevard. The car park opens at 9am and closes at midnight. Cars cannot be left overnight. Parking will cost £10 and must be paid for on entry. You can pay in cash, contactless Visa or Mastercard as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. However organisers advise bringing cash as the carpark GPRS card reader signal can sometimes be unreliable.

By bus

Nottingham City Transport will be providing a frequent service between the city centre and Wollaton Park and back, making it the easiest way to get to and from the festival.

Festival goers can either use Pink 30 for the Wollaton Road entrance or Orange 35/36 for the Derby Road entrance, which are both easily accessible to the Festival entrance. The recommended city centre bus stop is on Milton Street, by Victoria Centre.

At the end of the event Pink 30 will operate from inside Wollaton Park from a dedicated event bus stop with marshalled queue lanes with high capacity services direct to the city centre, dropping off on Talbot Street, South Sherwood Street and Victoria Centre.

Walking

The main pedestrian entry gate is the Wollaton Road entrance. Other entrances are via Lime Tree Avenue and Beeston Lodge, off A52 Derby Road.
