Nottinghamshire Police pulled over 13 drivers as part of a speeding operation launched after rising complaints. Officers targeted offending motorists in Sherwood on Wednesday, March 29.
The force said it was taking the action due to the rising number of complaints that roads with a 20mph speed limit are not abided by. In total, officers managed to pull over 13 vehicles for breaking the speed limit.
"Whilst conducting their day of action, multiple members of the public approached the officers to thank them for their efforts in trying to make their community safer," the police force said in a social media post. "The whole reason for these days of action is to show the public that we listen to their complaints and we do everything we can to combat the problems raised.
"Please continue to contact your local neighbourhood team on 101 to report any nuisance vehicles or issues with speeding or 999 if there is an emergency. We are here to listen to you."
