Fans of Peter Kay have called for the comedian to add extra dates in Nottingham as part of his long-awaited new tour - after tickets sold out quickly. He will perform at the city's Motorpoint Arena on July 14 and 15 next year in a nationwide return to stand-up.
Tickets went on sale on Saturday morning (November 12) - but they have now sold out at the Arena in Bolero Square. A number of extra dates have been added to the tour after "unprecedented" demand across the UK - these include two new shows in Birmingham, four in London and six in Manchester.
The Motorpoint Arena tweeted just after 1pm to say both shows had sold out. "Thank you for your patience during this incredibly busy sale," the tweet said.

"Due to unprecedented demand we could have sold out the venue 10 times over. We understand there'll be disappointed fans this morning, however please only buy tickets from reputable sites."
But on social media, many people across Nottingham are asking why there have been no extra dates announced for the city. Tweeting Kay on Twitter, @EmilyJessicaBea said: "Please add more Nottingham dates. Some people can't afford/aren't able to travel to London for shows."
@ReekEmma commented: "Really hoping you add extra dates to Nottingham!" @Rachy0812 said: "Please add another one in Nottingham."
@dan_knifton said: "Chuck some Nottingham in lad." @JayneHouldswor6 added: "Please, please, please could you add more to Nottingham."
Some ticket resale sites had seats available for as much as £1,000, with many people calling for more to be done to stop touts and to control the number of purchases. Kay's comeback from a five-year hiatus was announced during an ad break in the series launch of ITV's I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
