A mum who has "never left the salon satisfied" decided to take matters into her own hands. Mum of two Hetty Moran, has shared what made her open her own business which is also the "first salon of its kind" in Nottingham.
Ms Moran, 38, said she realised there was a high demand for curl specialists as "I have always been disappointed after getting a haircut". She said that getting her boys' haircuts right was also part of the reason why she wanted to become a specialist.
She said: "I realised that there is a huge market in Nottingham. I have always been disappointed after getting a haircut. They never got it right. I just never left the salon satisfied."

It was then she decided to take matters into her own hands. "My boys also have curly hair so I thought - who is going to cut their hair?", she added.
She followed a course at Curl Clinic Leeds, where she learned how to cut and style curly hair. Ms Moran became a specialist in April this year - and she has been a mobile worker ever since, with more than 60 clients from across the whole of East Midlands.
The proud mum giggled and said: "I have been quite busy. I then thought that I need my own place so I decided to open a salon.
"The main thing that I want to promote is education. Curly hair is also about diversity, I am mixed race myself. It is about educating people from wavy, curly, coily to kinky hair and showing their full potential of curls."
She launched her business, Curls by Hetty, on Sunday, December 18. The salon is located n Arleston Drive, Wollaton.
Speaking ahead of the launching, Ms Moran added: "Today, it will be just an open day to show people around. I do not have any appointments today. There will be around 20 to 30 people coming in to day between 2 and 5pm.
"It will be just me working for now, I might be looking to hire people in the future but they would need to have completed the same course in Leeds. But we will see how it goes."
She added: "I am just very happy that I see women with young girls who will be coming in. I remember when I was young I hated my curls because no one looked like me and I did not know what to do with it.
"So this is also why I am so passionate about it. And also because no one ever knew what to do with my hair."
