Nottingham Forest urged to complete transfer after 'outstanding' World Cup display

Nottingham Forest supporters are calling for Richie Laryea to be given more of a chance at the City Ground after impressing for Canada in their World Cup opener against Belgium.

The Red Devils won the Group F game 1-0 after former Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi scored the only goal of the match just before half-time after Canada's Alphonso Davies had missed a penalty early on. Laryea started on the opposite flank to the Bayern Munich player as a right wing-back and put in a fine performance.

The player is on loan back at Toronto, whom the Reds signed him from at the start of this year, for the rest of this season, but some Forest fans are calling for a recall after this World Cup showing. Here is a selection of the social media reaction after that performance from Lareya.
