Forest confirm transfer decision

Alex Mighten's loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday has come to an end, Nottingham Forest have confirmed.

The young winger made 16 appearances for Wednesday in all competitions, and scored twice for the League One outfit. But he is now back at parent club Forest.

The Reds said in a statement: " Alex Mighten has returned to the Club following a loan spell with League One side Sheffield Wednesday. The Academy graduate joined The Owls on loan in August and made 16 appearances in all competitions.

Eight-figure transfer bid turned down

Nottingham Forest have reportedly had a bid turned down for Montpelier defender Maxime Esteve.

The centre-back made his breakthrough for the Ligue 1 club at the start of last season, making 24 appearances. Esteve has kept his place this term after impressing in his debut campaign, missing just three league games, and the young defender is seemingly attracting interest from elsewhere.

Forest have been linked with a move for a new defender this month after agreeing to cut short Loic Bade’s loan spell and losing both Moussa Niakhate and Giulian Biancone to long-term injuries. Steve Cooper’s side are said to be targeting a deal for Esteve but have seemingly been dealt a setback.

Seven clubs want Forest forgotten man

MLS side Minnesota United have reportedly made an 'official proposal' to sign Nottingham Forest striker Hwang Ui-jo.

The 30-year-old made the switch from Bordeaux to Forest in the summer, before being immediately loaned out to Olympiacos for the remainder of the season. Despite not seeing regular game time in Greece, Hwang is subject of heavy interest from America.

A host of MLS sides including Los Angeles, Portland, Chicago, Atlanta United, Vancouver are also interested, as well as Korean and Japanese sides FC Seoul and Vissel Kobe.

New transfer agreement 'expected'

Nottingham Forest are reportedly 'expected' to strike an agreement with Palmeiras for midfielder Danilo.

Forest are keen to add to their squad this winter, and are working on striking a deal for the 21-year-old but face competition from French side AS Monaco. The Reds have, however, tried to get ahead of the race by reportedly tabling an offer of close to €20million (£18m) for the midfielder.

Palmeiras said to want to receive between €20m-€25m (£17m-£22m) for their player. Danilo's former Palmeiras team mate Gustavo Scarpa became Steve Cooper's first winter signing, but the Reds are set to not stop there.

Reds 'express interest' in Aston Villa and Everton target

Nottingham Forest have joined the ever-growing race to sign Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma in the January transfer window.

The Dutch international has attracted interest from numerous Premier League clubs in recent months, including Aston Villa, Liverpool, and West Ham, as well as Italian outfit AC Milan. Now Forest, along with Everton, have reportedly thrown their hat in the ring.

According to Sky Sports, the Reds have "expressed an interest" in signing the 25-year-old. Spanish media also claim that the player reportedly "wants to leave" the Spanish club after new manager Quique Setien limited his game time.

Surprise loan move

Nottingham Forest academy graduate Arvin Appiah has earned a surprise loan move to Málaga.

The 22-year-old came through the ranks at Forest, leaving for Spanish side UD Almería in an £8million move. After some loan moves, Appiah flourished last season and was a regular for Almería as they stormed the second division and won promotion back to La Liga.

He played 32 matches, though only scored once and assisted twice from the wing. Despite playing regularly for them, he was unable to remain in their plans for top flight football and spent the first half of this season on loan at Tenerife in the Segunda División.

Club return to Atletico Madrid for transfer solution

Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in signing Mario Hermoso on loan from Atletico Madrid.

The Reds are "set to approach" the La Liga outfit to discuss a potential deal that would see the defender move to the City Ground until the end of the season, according to the Daily Mail.

Manager Steve Cooper is in the market for defensive reinforcements in the January transfer window to help keep the club in the Premier League. Hermoso, 27, could be the man to bolster the backline in their bid to beat the drop.

Three-way transfer battle for £22m player

Nottingham Forest are reportedly 'targeting' Shaktar Donetsk winger Tete as Steve Cooper looks to bring in new additions to his squad this month.

The 22-year-old has spent the last six months on loan at Lyon following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He has so far enjoyed a fine campaign, making nine-goal contributions in 15 outings for the Ligue 1 side.

But Forest are not the only club that the Brazilian has caught the eye of, with Everton and Wolves also being credited with an interest. According to talkSPORT, the winger is 'open to a January move' to the Premier League.
