Emmanuel Dennis' transfer to Nottingham Forest is "progressing", Watford boss Rob Edwards has said.
The striker was left out of the Watford squad for their game against Burnley on Friday evening amid reports that he is closing in on a move to the Forest. When asked about Dennis' absence before the match, Edwards delivered an update on the transfer.
Dennis could become Forest's 13th signing of the summer, though he could be number 14 with the arrival of Atalanta midfielder Remo Freuler seemingly imminent. Head coach Steve Cooper will not be done there as he looks to bolster his squad, but Dennis will be an important addition to the strike force.

"It's progressing," Edwards told Sky Sports when asked about Dennis' move to Forest. "I said in the media yesterday, you know, everyone that we have picked tonight will be fully focused and with us. That one is progressing."
Watford are close to replacing Dennis with former Forest loanee Keinan Davis, who will join the Hornets from Aston Villa. When asked about that signing, Edwards said: "That one is quite close and I am really pleased with that as well. Subject to the last few bits of the medicals, we are hoping to welcome him in pretty soon."
