Nottingham Forest midfielder 'jets out' for medical as Wayne Rooney nears transfer

Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O'Brien travelled to have a medical at DC United today (Sunday), it has been reported.

The 24-year-old has flown out to the States for what will apparently be the first of three long-haul flights he needs to take in order to finalise his transfer away from Forest.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, O'Brien will need to fly back to Britain after his medical in order to get his work visa processed before he can move permanently to the United States.

Nottingham Forest relegation state of play after West Ham and Southampton games

Nottingham Forest sit two points above the Premier League relegation zone after Sunday's fixtures.

Rivals West Ham and Southampton both picked up a point on Sunday afternoon with draws against Aston Villa and Manchester United respectively. A Said Benrahma penalty earned the Hammers a 1-1 draw with Villa after Ollie Watkins had opened the scoring, while the Saints held United to a goalless stalemate at Old Trafford, with Casemiro sent off in the first half for the home side.

The results mean Forest stay 14th in the table, but there are only two points keeping them above the bottom three. Forest have an equal goal difference (-26) with 18th-place Bournemouth, the joint-worse in the top flight.

PGMOL 'at odds' with Nottingham Forest after Steve Cooper raised Everton issues

Reports that Nottingham Forest submitted a dossier of refereeing errors to the Professional Game Match Officials Board (PGMOL) have left the officiating body "perplexed".

According to ESPN, the Reds submitted two video clips to the PGMOL this weekend, and not last week as had previously been claimed. They say the referees' body is "at odds" with Forest over the situation.

Richard Keys takes swipe at Nottingham Forest star after Tottenham defeat

Richard Keys and Andy Gray have taken a swipe at Serge Aurier after the Nottingham Forest defender's performance against Tottenham.

Aurier featured for the Reds against his former team and was on the losing side of a 3-1 scoreline in north London on Saturday afternoon. Two goals from Harry Kane and a third from Son Heung-min saw Forest return to the East Midlands empty-handed.

Both Keys and Gray were critical of Forest and were quick to highlight Aurier's defending. The defender has largely done well since signing on a free transfer in the summer transfer window, but could not escape criticism this weekend.
