Nottingham Forest winger Alex Mighten has confirmed he turned down offers from the Championship to sign for Sheffield Wednesday in League One.
The 20-year-old had struggled for game time under Steve Cooper last season and in the Premier League this term. Mighten only started five Championship games last season and appeared for seven minutes in the Reds' 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United.
Mighten sealed his loan move to Wednesday on Monday and played 80 minutes of the Owls' 3-1 Papa John's Trophy defeat to Bradford City. The Owls are currently third in the League One table after winning four of their opening six games.

Ahead of their home fixture with Barnsley on Saturday afternoon, Mighten confirmed there was interest from the Championship and revealed the reasoning behind joining Moore's side. He said: "There were other clubs in the Championship (interested me) but when the opportunity came around to join this club I was really invested in Sheffield Wednesday and the direction they are going in.
"I didn't really look past that. I am here today and thankful for that.
"I am delighted to be here. It's such a big club and a great opportunity for myself.
"I am settling in well and I'm excited. I had a feeling (about this club). I feel confident. It's a big opportunity and a big club. I feel like it is the best step for me and I'm happy to get started."
Mighten joins the Owls looking to take the club back to the Championship following their relegation in 2021.. He said: "That is why I am here and it is something I am really excited to be involved in.
"I feel like I can play a big part in that and I am excited to hopefully get them back up."
