Nottingham Forest are reportedly missing out on signing Inter Milan centre-forward Martin Satriano with a loan to Serie A side Empoli apparently 'agreed'.
The 21-year-old was first linked with the Reds in late December last year, just days before the winter transfer window opened. Satriano was said to be one of the club's 'main' targets, but Aston Villa loanee Keinan Davis ended up arriving at the City Ground instead on New Year's Day.
Instead, the Uruguay international joined Ligue 1 side Stade Brestois in January on loan for the remainder of the 2021/22 season. The striker scored four times in 16 appearances for the French side as they finished 11th in the table.

Then in April, it was reported how the player 'nearly' ended up in the East Midlands after being 'targeted' by Forest before eventually agreeing to a switch across the Alps. Continental giants such as Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Marseille were all credited with interest back then, which makes this imminent move an interesting one.
Satriano is set to be included in a transfer for Inter to sign Empoli midfielder Kristjan Asllani, with the striker set to spend the season on loan in the town southwest of Florence. Inter's inclusion of the youngster is reportedly a key part of the deal, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via SempreInter.com ).
That perhaps explains why such an in-demand striker looks to be signing for a side that finished 14th in Serie A. Andrea Pinamonti, who spent last season on loan from Inter at Empoli, has returned to Milan this summer and Satriano looks a ready-made replacement from the same club.
