Nottingham Forest have been backed by bookmakers to stay in the Premier League at the end of the season, but their fight for survival looks set to go down to the wire.
The Reds are currently in 18th place in the Premier League, but are only in the bottom three on goal difference. Forest, Leeds United and Leicester City are all locked on 30 points ahead of this weekend’s Premier League fixtures.
Steve Cooper ’s men will be looking to bounce back from a late loss against Brentford in their last outing when they take on Southampton at the City Ground on Monday night. Before that game, Forest fans will be keeping an eye on other fixtures around the league.

Leeds United travel to take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon. It will be the club’s first game under the management of Sam Allardyce.
Meanwhile, Leicester City take on mid-table Fulham at Craven Cottage on Monday afternoon. Everton meanwhile travel to face Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium.
Ahead of those games, bookmakers SkyBet have Forest rated at odds of 4/5 to be relegated at the end of the season. That makes them fourth favourites, behind Southampton, Leeds and Everton.
Southampton are by far favourites for the drop, with odds at 1/66. The Saints are bottom of the league and six points adrift from safety.
Leeds are then the next favourites, but they are at much longer odds of 4/7. The Whites are currently out of the relegation zone on goal difference, but have four of their last five games.
19th placed Everton are at odds of 4/6 to go down.
Leicester City have odds of 15/8 to finish the season in the bottom three. West Ham, who are four points clear of the drop zone are rated at 25/1 to go down.
Having lost their last six games in all competitions, Chelsea can still mathematically be relegated, but the bookmakers don’t think that is very likely with odds of 250/1.
Odds are correct at the time of writing.
