Nottingham Forest tipped for 'monstrous' transfer bid as club chief speaks out

Nottingham Forest "could make a monstrous offer" to sign Udinese forward Beto this summer, according to a report in Italy.

Forest are said to be interested in the 25-year-old, who has scored 10 goals and assisted another two in 32 Serie A games this season.

The Portuguese attacker has been attracting the attention of top clubs in Italy and Napoli are said to have made a €25million bid for his services. But now Forest are reportedly set to enter the fray ahead of what could be another busy summer.

It would take a large bid from Forest to sign Beto in the summer transfer window, given Udinese rejected an offer of more than €25million back in January.

Italian outlet Mondo Udinese say Forest "have a great desire to stand out" in the race for Beto's signature, which will be tough given he is an "object of desire" for several Italian clubs.

Speaking about a potential sale, Udinese technical director Pierpaolo Marino, per Tutto Udinese, said this week: “Napoli’s offer for Beto? I have not seen this offer. Beto has a clause so there aren’t many discussions to have. He is an important player with plenty of room for improvement. We will try to hold him as long as we can."
