Nottingham Forest fans have been reacting to the team news for this afternoon’s pre-season friendly against Union Berlin.
The Reds are in Germany for their fifth pre-season friendly as they continue their build-up to the Premier League campaign. They have already taken on Coventry City, Burton Albion, Barnsley and, most recently, Hertha Berlin this summer.
Latest signing Jesse Lingard is not included in the match squad. But there is a debut for Lewis O’Brien, following his switch from Huddersfield Town.

Steve Cook, Joe Worrall and Scott McKenna make up the back line, ahead of goalkeeper Dean Henderson. O’Brien comes into the midfield to partner Jack Colback, with Neco Williams and Harry Toffolo in the wing-back roles.
Brennan Johnson looks set to continue in the no.10 position, supporting Alex Mighten and Taiwo Awoniyi in attack. Here’s what Forest fans have been saying about the line-up.
@FoodFunForest: Never thought it was likely that Lingard would start today. Mighten has earned his start though. Hope he takes the opportunity. Even with no more signings we've got Surridge, Yates and Richards to come back into the squad. Getting there. #NFFC
@McBrads95: Nice to see O’brien start but wonder where Hennessey is? #nffc
@GC_NFFC: Lovely team that also good to see O’Brien in the side #NFFC

@edfollowsforest: Glad mighten is getting a run out he could be a brilliant super sub this season
@MsCFoley: Yay Cook!
@Owen27078397: The fact we still have Lingard, Yates, Surridge and Richards is scary, few more signings were looking ridiculously strong

Cooper’s men have a fortnight to go before the 2022/23 campaign begins. They make the trip to Newcastle United for their opening fixture on August 6.
