Nottingham Forest sweating on double injury concern after Luton Town loss

Nottingham Forest have been left sweating on the fitness of Keinan Davis and Scott McKenna after their defeat at Luton Town.

Both were forced off with hamstring issues as the Reds fell 1-0 at Kenilworth Road. It means a nervy wait for boss Steve Cooper to see whether they are available for Monday’s clash at home to West Bromwich Albion (8pm kick-off).

Defender McKenna was brought off just past the 65-minute mark, with Forest switching from a three-man back line to a four as a result. Front man Davis, meanwhile, went off towards the end of the game, when the visitors had already made their three substitutions.

Asked about Davis, Cooper said: “And Scott has come off as well, with his hamstring. We don’t know how bad. Whether it’s fatigue or whether they are injured.

“They have definitely come off with feeling their hamstrings. We’ll have to see how that is in the next 24 hours.

“I don’t want to make any assumptions at the moment. We need to get back to the training ground now. We need to recover, get everyone checked over and see where we’re at come Monday.”

Kal Naismith’s controversial first-half penalty proved to be the difference between the two promotion rivals in the lunchtime kick-off. In a bad-tempered affair, the Reds were somewhat below-par compared to recent performances, but still had their chances to get something from the game.

They are still without defenders Max Lowe and Steve Cook as they go into their final six games of the season. And they will hope to bounce back from a defeat which ended a five-match winning run in the league, when they host the Baggies on Monday night.
