The next few weeks could be crucial for Nottingham Forest in preserving their Premier League status for another season.
After winning promotion to the top division via the play-offs last May, all the concentration around the club has gone into survival at the end of the season. After a poor start to the season, Forest fans may have been preparing themselves for a return to the Championship, but things have since picked up.
After spending some time at the bottom of the table, a run of results after the World Cup break means that the Reds are currently sat in 14th place, four points above the final relegation position. The gap to 18th-placed Everton was maintained with a 2-2 home draw with the Toffees on Sunday afternoon.

Forest take on Tottenham Hotspur in North London in their next outing before hosting Champions League chasing Newcastle at the City Ground the following week. A couple of disappointing results, coupled with results going against them, could see Steve Cooper ’s men dragged back into the bottom three of the table.
One of the first things looked at when assessing the fight against the drop is the upcoming fixtures for both Forest and their relegation rivals. With that in mind, here is the full run-in until the end of the season for every team from 12th downwards, with some having harder runs than others.
There’s also some crucial games, both for the Reds and other clubs that could have an impact on who finishes the season in the dreaded bottom three. It is of course also entirely possible that it could come down to a crucial final day on Sunday, May 28.
