Notthingham Forest must wait and see how bad Max Lowe's injury is after he was forced off midway through the Reds' clash with Reading at the City Ground.
The 24-year-old was unable to continue until half-time and had to be replaced on 41 minutes, with Cafu being introduced to the game.
Forest led 1-0 at half-time against the Royals after Keinan Davis' goal inside the opening minute of Saturday's Championship encounter.
Lowe's premature departure - due to what appeared to be a groin issue - will come as a blow for Forest given he has only recently returned to the starting XI. The full-back missed nine games earlier in the season after he suffered an injury - also against Reading - in November 2021.
He was deemed fit enough to make his return against Derby County midway though January and has featured in nine of the Reds' 10 matches ever since.
Lowe's injury has led to many Reds fans wondering whether Richie Laryea could soon find himself brought into Steve Cooper's squad.
The 27-year-old was brought to the City Ground as an exciting January transfer signing but has failed to make a single appearance for the Reds so far.
He was named on the bench against Leicester City (FA Cup), Blackburn Rovers and Huddersfield Town (FA Cup) but has been overlooked otherwise.
This is what some Forest fans had to say on social media...
@Rocky2Red: Need to get Laryea into the fold now. See what he can do, can't keep playing Colback there.
@eleezah1017: Did we actually buy Laryea or was it all one big dream because was literally brought for situations like this yet is never on the bench or brought on, very weird.
@PezKed: Could do without this.
@Anon_Wh0: Didn’t he just came back.
@DylanJackson02: Not again.
@alex_iskander: Hope Lowe isn’t out for too long. Probably taken off as a precaution.
@MiserableForest: Surely now with Lowe injury we are going to start seeing Lareya ???
@TomJacobs93: Looks like it was worth buying Laryea! Not played since he arrived, now not in squad. Lowe injured, bring Cafu on and shuffle, now midfielder at LWB. Squad depth a problem no matter how good we are. Lowe/Spence can’t play Sheff U or Boro if we get them in playoffs.
@HenshawAnalysis: Got to hope that Lowe injury isn't serious. Will be a huge blow if he's out for a significant period of time.
