Nottingham Forest striker Lyle Taylor is set to join Birmingham City on loan until the end of the season.
The former Charlton forward has found it hard to nail down a place in the Reds' starting 11 following the arrival of Keinan Davis from Aston Villa and the form of Lewi Grabban.
It comes as part of a double swoop by the Blues, who are also closing in on Rangers midfielder Juninho Bacuna.
Taylor had been linked with a move to Millwall as part of a rumoured swap deal involving winger Jed Wallace, but those claims were played down by boss Gary Rowett.
Forest striker Taylor was left out of the squad to face Barnsley last night as the Reds cruised to a 3-0 win at the City Ground.
He has scored three goals in 19 appearances for Forest this season.
The news comes as Reds midfielder Joao Carvalho was also on the brink of an exit.
According to the Sun, the midfielder will complete a permanent transfer ahead of the January transfer window deadline after failing to nail down a place in Steve Cooper's starting 11.
The claims come after Gate 7 international reported the two clubs had reached an agreement on a deal which will see Carvalho join the Piraeus giants who are owned by Reds supremo Evangelos Marinakis.
It is reported that boss Pedro Martins has given the green light for the transfer to go ahead after initially putting the breaks on the move.
Olympiacos are said to have been keeping tabs on Carvalho for the last three years and have now decided to make their move for the playmaker who joined Forest from Benfica in 2018 for a fee of £12.5m.
