Nottingham Forest are reportedly set to miss out on signing Hull City forward Keane Lewis-Potter despite "registering their interest" earlier this summer.
The England under-21 international scored 13 goals across all competitions last season and assisted another four. Two of those strikes came against the Reds, with the winger netting the opener at the City Ground before Forest came back to win 2-1, as well as cancelling out Brennan Johnson's added-time strike with an even later effort on the final day of the season in the East Riding.
That form in the youngster's debut season in the Championship has seen a host of Premier League clubs linked with offering a further step up to the top flight ahead of next season. Everton, Southampton and West Ham United all reportedly joined Forest in "registering an interest" in the player, but Brentford apparently lead the pack.

Our colleagues at Hull Live report that the Bees are "edging closer to striking a deal" after submitting a revised bid understood to be in the region of £16million plus significant add-ons. They add that Thomas Frank's side are said to be the only top flight team with a "genuine chance of doing a deal" and are understood to be the player's "favoured destination".
Steve Cooper's side have already signed Taiwo Awoniyi for a club-record fee in attacking areas this summer. The Reds also continue to be linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Morgan Gibbs-White, who impressed last season on loan at Sheffield United, and Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo.
