Nottingham Forest sent message over renewed interest in winger transfer

Fans have responded to Nottingham Forest's reported renewed interest in Blackpool winger Josh Bowler.

The 23-year-old is said to have returned to the Reds' radar, with Steve Cooper remaining interested in securing his services - so much so, that Forest are ready to make a £2.5million offer for the player, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Forest are not alone in the race however, with Fulham and Bournemouth also monitoring the situation. Bowler has entered the final year of his contract at Bloomfield Road.

Asked about whether Bowler would stay at the club beyond the summer, Seasiders boss Michael Appleton said: "Who knows? There's clearly a lot of interest in the lad and we're aware he's an absolute talent.

"He did ever so well for the football club last season and we want him to continue to do that this season. We’ve clearly got to be in a position where if he does go, we can act quickly. But at the same time, I'm pretty confident my board won't allow him to go for cheap."

Here is what the Reds' faithful had to say...

Redisthecolour: "Been saying for 6+ months that we should be getting this guy here - and promotion doesn't change my view. He's got pace and skill - just what we need. I saw him as BJ's replacement if we didn't go up, but right now we don't have a replacement for Brennan, so let's get this deal done. He apparently turned us down in January - so what."

RattonRed: "Replacement for Lolley."

Kenttree: "Sort of player we should have in the squad, if not for now then for the future. If we go down (which I don't expect) then he'd be a great player in the Championship, while this year he could be an impact player off the bench each week. Alternatively, buy him now and loan him back, giving him an extra year to improve his game ready for next season. Good resale value, still young; at that sort of price, ideal."

InofftheRed: "£2.5m and offer Alex Mighten on loan for the season."

Josh: "I don't know what it is but throughout the whole window I've wanted us to sign Josh Bowler. Before anyone says he's not needed, we are seeing with the defence what happens with a few injuries! Watched a lot of Blackpool and he's very talented. Anything under 3m is a steal."

KS: "Would welcome Josh Bowler. He can play and has bags of potential."

Gav Martin: "I hope we get Josh Bowler. Would be a good addition to the squad."

MardyMillennial87: "Don't know why we're chasing him when he turned us down to stay at Blackpool last season."

NathanNFFC06: "Blackpool turned us down."

ADZ: "Tbf Josh Bowler is a quality young player and would add depth to the team and he wouldn’t cost a lot to bring in so nothing to lose."

Manmademegaphone: "Hope not, leave him where he is, not Prem quality."

GarryHousley: "Hopefully, quality player."

Kyle Booth: "Bowler or Mighten on bench makes sense, also so much potential in this team with him added , definitely see us changing to a 4-3-3 . Might even try it against Tues wozza and Mckenna CB."

NFFCHarry: "Sign him then loan him back out to Blackpool."

Luke: "He looks good still young with loads of potential. Go for it, cheap too."
