Nottingham Forest sent clear 'worse job' message after Patrick Vieira claim

Nottingham Forest play what could be a huge match in the direction of their season at Elland Road this evening (7.45pm kick-off) when they take on relegation rivals Leeds United.

Steve Cooper ’s men will be looking for just their second away win of the Premier League campaign – and to improve what is the worst record in the division.

Victory would put them four points above the Whites and potentially see them climb to 13th in the table. Defeat would only intensify what is becoming a dogfight at the bottom of the table.

Inevitably, with Southampton, Leicester, Leeds, Everton, Bournemouth, Wolves and Crystal Palace all having changed their manager this season, there has been focus on the position of promotion mastermind Steve Cooper.

Indeed the Daily Mail have today suggested Patrick Vieira, only recently sacked by Palace, is in the running to replace Cooper if the situation arises. That’s a surprise to many Forest fans who are under the impression they still have a manager.

Here’s a selection of their responses...

@jonrileynffc: There isn't a vacancy I'm afraid!

@nffc_kels: If we sack Cooper if we lose today I might go and watch cricket instead.

@aaaaaawinning: He did a worse job at Palace than Cooper has with us (despite his recent struggles)

@hannahforest: What? He got sacked at Crystal Palace.

@antonysissons: Nottingham forest don't have a managerial vacancy. The fans want Cooper regardless of what division we end up in

@danielf1865: No thank you

@eherbie__: Cooper been sacked?

@nickbailey73: April fools was the other day

@NoSleepForTony: Obviously you mean Leicester? Not sure if you've noticed, but we (#nffc) have a manager. Thanks.

@CoopersReds: Before SC this would have been quite an exiting prospect. The face that this would be very underwhelming and taking a step back just shows how far SC has taken the club in a small amount of time. He's done what Forest mangers have failed to do in 23 years. STICK. WITH. HIM.
