Nottingham Forest's Gustavo Scarpa drops Danilo transfer hint

Gustavo Scarpa has taken to social media to comment on the imminent arrival of Danilo from Palmeiras.

Forest reached a reported agreement worth £18m to sign the midfielder, who is set to join his former team mate Scarpa. The 21-year-old was set to arrive in the UK over the weekend to complete his medical at the City Ground.

With his arrival claimed to be imminent, Scarpa has not hidden his excitement to be reunited with Danilo. Scarpa spent four years playing alongside the 21-year-old at the Sao Paulo-based club prior to his switch to Trentside last month.

As he often posts things on his Instagram page, Scarpa posted a video of little snow flakes falling along with the caption: "Danilo, you even bought snow" followed by a laughing emoji.

Danilo recently took to Instagram to post an emotional message following his five years at Palmeiras. It read: "The day has come to say goodbye to Palmeiras, the club where I made so many dreams come true," he said.

"It's been 5 years since I arrived and here at this club I've won titles that I've always dreamed of, since my days at Paçoca, at Fazenda Coutos III. With this shirt we won 2 Libertadores, 1 Copa do Brasil, 1 Campeonato Brasileiro, 1 Campeonato Paulista and 1 Recopa, here I was embraced and also criticised but above all I was very happy!

"I thank God for being with me at all times, my family for whom I live, my friends inside and outside the club, I thank the coaching staff and other employees for all these years. To the Palmeiras fans, my respect and gratitude for supporting me at all times, I also thank my staff for dreaming my dreams with me.

"I'm going to make another dream come true and be sure, I carry a heavy baggage, full of experiences and experiences and in it goes a Brazil with me, always, wherever I am! Thanks Palmeiras!"
