Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in signing Mario Hermoso on loan from Atletico Madrid.
The Reds are "set to approach" the La Liga outfit to discuss a potential deal that would see the defender move to the City Ground until the end of the season, according to the Daily Mail.
Manager Steve Cooper is in the market for defensive reinforcements in the January transfer window to help keep the club in the Premier League. Hermoso, 27, could be the man to bolster the backline in their bid to beat the drop.

The Spaniard, who has spent four years at the Wanda Metropolitana, was a key cog in Atletico's title-winning campaign in 2020/21. But he has fallen down the pecking order under Diego Simeone this term, making just two league starts.
If Forest manage to sign the former Real Madrid prospect, it will be the second loan deal they have struck with Atletico this season. Full-back Renan Lodi joined in the summer and has made ten Premier League appearances this season.
