It was a difficult night at the Etihad Stadium for Nottingham Forest as they took on Premier League Champions Manchester City.
Steve Cooper’s men travelled up to Manchester having had a decent start to life back in the Premier League. They had picked up four points from their opening four games in the league, but faced what would be their toughest test in the midweek encounter.
Forest quickly found out why Man City have been so successful over the last few years as striker Erling Haaland gave the home side a lead in the 12th minute. The Norwegian international scored his first Premier League hat trick at the weekend, and he repeated the trick against Forest.
