Nottingham Forest receive Dean Henderson transfer boost as club chief confirms Man Utd 'interest'

Manchester United are interested in signing Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, the club's CEO Beppe Marotta has confirmed.

David de Gea, as things stand, is a free agent following the expiration of his contract at the end of June. However, the shot-stopper could still pen fresh terms at Old Trafford.

As for Dean Henderson, his future at the club remains up in the air amid the uncertainty over De Gea. Nottingham Forest are said to still remain keen on signing the 26-year-old permanently after a loan stint at the City Ground.

Although United have been credited with an interest in Onana, they are apparently yet to make a move. Previous reports claim that after signing Mason Mount from Chelsea for £55million plus add-ons, the Red Devils will have to sell players first.

It is thought that boss Erik ten Hag is open to letting Harry Maguire, Fred and Scott McTominay depart. However, if United choose to keep hold of De Gea, Henderson's move to Trentside could be facilitated.

Speaking at the Gran Gala, Marotta highlighted United's "particular interest" in Onana. "Manchester United expressed a particular interest, but that needs to blossom into making a proposal over the next few days," the chief executive said.

"Once that happens, both Inter and the player will make a careful evaluation."
