Nottingham Forest are said to have had an approach for Burnley ace Maxwel Cornet rejected - but another fresh transfer link has also emerged.
Moussa Niakhate became the Reds’ fourth addition of the summer when he made the move from Mainz earlier this week. The defender followed Taiwo Awoniyi, Dean Henderson and Giulian Biancone in linking up with Steve Cooper’s squad.
But Forest are far from finished with their business just yet. Neco Williams and Omar Richards look set to become the next arrivals, with still more to follow as owner Evangelos Marinakis bankrolls a significant spending spree.

Southampton striker Che Adams is a player of interest, according to the Daily Mail, as Cooper aims to strengthen his attacking resources. But it is said an approach for Cornet has been “rebuffed” by the Clarets.
LancsLive report the versatile Burnley star is expected to leave Turf Moor, with a relegation release clause of £17.5m active. Chelsea, West Ham United, Everton and Newcastle United have all been linked with the left-sided 25-year-old.
Adams, meanwhile, has been on Forest’s radar before, back in January 2020, shortly after his big-money move from Birmingham City. Leeds United were also reportedly keen at the time, as the forward’s future was up in the air.
He remained at Southampton and has gone on to rack up a total of 110 appearances, scoring 21 goals. The former Ilkeston man recently ended a run of 16 games without finding the back of the net for club or country, bagging in Scotland’s 4-1 Nations League thumping of Armenia.
