Nottingham Forest are reportedly set to submit a bid to sign Atalanta centre-back Merih Demiral.
This is according to Italian outlet Tutto Atalanta, who claim Forest are ready to submit a bid of around €26 million (£23m) plus bonuses to sign the 24-year-old, as they continue their hunt to add to their defensive options. However, they are not alone in their pursuit, with Italian giants Inter Milan and Newcastle also in the race.
Milan are said to have identified Demiral as a replacement for Milan Skriniar who is set to join Paris Saint-Germain. Demiral joined Atalanta on a loan basis from Juventus initially, before making the permanent move for £18m last year.

Forest are reportedly hopeful that their recent business with Atalanta after signing Remo Freuler from them in the summer will give them an advantage over other interested parties. Tutto Atalanta also adds that Forest are "actively following" striker Duvan Zapata ahead of tonight's transfer deadline.
The Turkey international, Demiral has made 17 appearances under Gian Piero Gasperini this season.
