Nottingham Forest predicted XI vs Preston as two changes made

Nottingham Forest are back in Sky Bet Championship action tonight (Tuesday) when they take on Preston North End at Deepdale (7.45pm kick-off).

Forest were left frustrated on Friday as their visit to fellow promotion hopefuls Bournemouth was postponed in the wake of Storm Eunice.

So, this will be the Reds' first match since the dramatic 2-2 draw at home to Stoke City on February 12.

Steve Cooper's men looked to be heading to defeat after goalkeeper Brice Samba was sent off following a clash with Stoke defender Phil Jagielka inside his penalty area in the 85th minute of the match.

With all three substitutes having been used, Forest centre-back Joe Worrall went in goal for the resulting spot kick, which Lewis Baker converted to put the visitors 2-1 up.

However, substitute Ryan Yates pounced to score a last-gasp equaliser for the hosts in the second minute of stoppage time, earning them a share of the spoils.

Cooper will have to make at least one change to his starting line-up at Preston, with regular number one Samba beginning a three-match suspension.

Back-up stopper Ethan Horvath is set to take his place between the sticks, with Jordan Smith drafted onto the bench as cover.

In front of Horvath, Cooper is unlikely to break up the back three of captain Worrall, Steve Cook and Scott McKenna.

The same goes for the wing-backs Djed Spence and Max Lowe.

Cooper could opt to bolster his midfield, though, by handing Yates - the late hero against Stoke - a start alongside Jack Colback.

That would allow James Garner to operate in a slightly more advanced role, with Philip Zinckernagel the man who could make way.

That leaves the in-form Brennan Johnson to partner on-loan Aston Villa striker Keinan Davis, who has impressed since his arrival in January, in attack, with Sam Surridge having to settle for a place on the bench again.

Predicted Forest XI vs Preston: Horvath; Worrall, Cook, McKenna; Spence, Yates, Colback, Lowe; Garner; Johnson, Davis.
