Nottingham Forest have reportedly made a bid for Middlesbrough winger Marcus Tavernier as Steve Cooper looks to continue to add to his squad.
Cooper has been active in the transfer window so far, bringing seven new players to the club. Forward Taiwo Awoniyi has been joined by Neco Williams, Moussa Niakhate, Giulian Biancone, Omar Richards, Dean Henderson and Wayne Hennessey in arriving at the City Ground so far this summer.
But Forest aren’t done in the transfer window yet. Reports on Wednesday claimed that the club were one of a number of Premier League sides to be ‘weighing up’ a transfer bid for Middlesbrough winger Marcus Tavernier.

The Daily Mail now claim that Forest have ‘made a £10 million bid’ for the player, and are ‘waiting on an answer’ from the Championship side. They are however not alone in their offer with fellow newly promoted side Bournemouth also said to have made a proposal to Middlesbrough.
Tavernier was a key player for Chris Wilder’s side last season, making a total of 48 appearances. He scored a total of five goals and provided a further five assists.
The future of Forest winger Joe Lolley is said to be in doubt after being told by Cooper that he is not in his plans for the upcoming season. It is said that Tavernier is seen as a ‘younger replacement’ for the 29-year-old whose future at the City Ground now looks uncertain.
23-year-old Tavernier has come through the youth system at Middlesbrough, establishing himself in the first team squad over the last few seasons, after spending six months on loan with MK Dons in 2018/19. He has made a total of 135 appearances in the Championship, scoring 15 goals and providing the same number of assists.
