Nottingham Forest live Q&A - January transfers, survival bid, injury woes

Nottingham Forest have a big month ahead as they look to get 2023 off to the best possible start.

On the pitch, Steve Cooper’s side have a run of important games coming up, both in the Premier League and in cup competitions. They begin the new year by hosting Chelsea at the City Ground on Sunday, but have matches against some of the teams around them on the horizon, as well as a Carabao Cup quarter-finals tie and an FA Cup clash with Blackpool.

Off the pitch, the January transfer window will be key to the Reds’ survival bid. The club are planning to dip into the market again, well aware that targeting the right additions could make all the difference in the battle at the bottom end of the table.

With all that in mind, it means there is plenty to talk about in our weekly Forest webchat. Reds reporter Sarah Clapson will be in the hot seat from noon, answering your questions and responding to comments.

What business do Forest need to do next month? How should they line up against Chelsea? Are you confident they can stay up? Are you worried about the growing injury list?

The number of long-term absentees is certainly taking its toll. Additionally, Jesse Lingard is a doubt for the New Year’s Day fixture, so if he does miss out, does Cooper need to consider tweaking his formation?

Whoever plays, the Reds will want to pick up from where they left off at home, having toppled Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur (in the cup) and Liverpool before the World Cup break. And they will want to bounce back from a disappointing 3-0 defeat at Manchester United on Tuesday night.

You can have your say on the above topics and any others which spring to mind in our live Q&A. Submit any questions or comments in the comments section below.

Feel free to get them in early. You can then join the debate when Sarah’s webchat goes live at 12pm.
