Making only two league starts, and missing five fixtures with a hamstring problem, Doucoure has been forced to watch Idrissa Gueye, Amadou Onana and Alex Iwobi start in midfield in the majority of Everton’s games so far this season. And with James Garner, who arrived from Manchester United during the summer transfer window, and Tom Davies also pushing for spots in Everton’s midfield, his game time could be limited in the coming months.
The links with Forest come just days after Docoure was linked with a move to Fulham and a reunion with former Blues boss Marco Silva. However, and as reported by the ECHO on Tuesday, Doucoure has said he wants to stay at Everton.
