Nottingham Forest record signing Morgan Gibbs-White missed Tuesday’s Carabao Cup clash after picking up a knock against Everton.
The attacker made his debut for the Reds in last Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Goodison Park, making an impact from off the bench. And boss Steve Cooper says he would like to have given him more time on the pitch in the midweek victory over Grimsby Town.
Taking a knock against the Toffees meant Gibbs-White was unavailable for the 3-0 second round win. But he will be given “every opportunity” to be ready for Sunday’s Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

“Morgan missed the game on Tuesday. He picked up a kick against Everton, so unfortunately he was unavailable for Grimsby. We would like to have given him a run-out there,” Cooper said, ahead of the match at the City Ground.
“We’ll see where he’s at for the weekend. We want to give him every opportunity.
“Apart from that, we’re as we were. The long-term injuries are progressing, but miles off being ready to feature for us.”
One of those long-term absentees is defender Moussa Niakhate. He recently joined Omar Richards (hairline fracture of the leg) on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.
“It is going to be a few months. He is at the early stages of that,” Cooper added on Niakhate.
“He has been really positive. It’s a difficult moment for him, coming to a new team and new country, starting the season, we were really happy with him after the first couple of games and what he’d done in pre-season, so it was a real kick in the teeth for him to pick up the injury that he has.
“We were all shocked when the scan came back. It is something we are all dealing with; it’s part and parcel of it, unfortunately. Hee and us will give him the best opportunity to recover as quickly and as best he can.”
