Henderson and Mangala impress, Johnson scores in Everton draw
Nottingham Forest had to settle for a point against Everton, drawing 1-1 at Goodison Park, despite an opener from Brennan Johnson.
The visitors had to ride a storm in the opening quarter of an hour or so as they found themselves on the back foot. But with owner Evangelos Marinakis watching on, they grew into the game and began to threaten.
Dean Henderson made two good saves in quick succession as the 15-minute mark approached. The Manchester United loanee pushed away a well-hit effort from Anthony Gordon, then denied Demarai Gray soon after as the hosts kept up the pressure.

Lampard disagrees with Cooper after late Nottingham Forest and Everton drama
Everton manager Frank Lampard claims his side should have beaten Nottingham Forest at Goodison Park, despite Steve Cooper's suggestions that the Reds deserved all three points.
Demarai Gray scored a late equaliser for Everton after Brennan Johnson put the visitors ahead in the 81st minute, but seven minutes later, the Toffees winger restored parity. The result means that Everton remain winless after the first three games, but boss Lampard claimed after full-time that his side should have won the match.
"It’s a point and it's a first on the board," he said after full-time. "We deserved points in our first two games in my opinion and we deserved to win today.
Nottingham Forest 'in talks' over 17th summer signing after Cooper gives Niakhate update
Nottingham Forest are reportedly in talks with Wolves over signing centre-back Willy Boly.
Steve Cooper is in the market to add another centre-back to his squad after revealing that summer arrival Moussa Niakhate will be out of action for months. And the Reds have moved quickly to cover the defender by opening talks with Wolves for Boly.
Telegraph reporter John Percy wrote on Twitter: "#nffc are in talks with #Wolves over a possible deal for centre-half Willy Boly. Opening offer of around £1m rejected, talks ongoing though nothing believed to be imminent as Wolves will try to sign a replacement. Forest moved for Boly after the injury to Moussa Niakhate,"
Nottingham Forest boss Cooper provides update on Mangala after Eveton draw
Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper put midfielder Orel Mangala’s substitution down to “fatigue” in the 1-1 draw at Everton.
The summer signing caused a scare when he was withdrawn in the second half at Goodison Park, having required treatment on the pitch. But Cooper suggested taking him off was more precautionary than anything else, after the 24-year-old had put in an impressive performance.
It comes as the Reds have already been dealt another injury blow, with defender Moussa Niakhate set for “a few months” on the sidelines with a hamstring problem. Fellow new arrival Omar Richards is also out of action for a significant spell, with a hairline fracture of the leg, while Jack Colback has been missing recently due to illness.
Cooper makes Nottingham Forest transfer admission after big defender injury blow
Nottingham Forest have been dealt another injury blow with the news defender Moussa Niakhate is facing “a few months” out of action.
The summer signing was forced off in last weekend’s 1-0 win over West Ham United, in what was his second appearance for the Reds. He was replaced by Steve Cook at the City Ground, with the former Bournemouth man also starting in Niakhate’s place as Forest came away with a 1-1 draw at Everton.
But boss Steve Cooper admitted afterwards that losing Niakhate for an extended spell may have an impact on the club’s transfer plans in the remainder of the window. Sixteen additions have already been made, and more business is expected before the September 1 deadline with Wolves defender Willy Boly already linked by the Telegraph.
