Nottingham Forest have reportedly seen a bid for Braga goalkeeper Matheus rejected.
The claims come amid Forest's search for a new shot-stopper this summer. The Reds are in talks to sign Dean Henderson on a permanent deal after a successful loan spell at the City Ground last term.
Forest will be eager to strengthen their goalkeeping department in the current transfer window. Wayne Hennessey is currently the Reds' only senior keeper, although they do still have Ethan Horvath on their books but his future remains unclear.
And according to journalist Pedro Sepulveda via SportWitness, the Reds have "bid €4.5million plus bonuses" for Matheus. However, this bid is said to have been rejected.

It is also claimed that the Reds were interested in signing the 31-year-old back in January after Henderson's suffered a season-ending injury. But Forest went on to sign Paris Saint-Germain keeper Keylor Navas instead.
Matheus' potential signing for the Reds may not signal the end of their interest in bringing Henderson back to the club. If the figures quoted are correct then it is unlikely that he would be first choice.
The Brazilian made 45 appearances in all competitions for Braga last season having played his football at the Portuguese club since 2014. He has an impressive record of 98 clean sheets in 293 games for the club in total.
