Nottingham Forest forward set for City Ground exit with permanent transfer imminent

Nottingham Forest forward Xande Silva is set to join Dijon on a permanent transfer, according to a report in France.

The 25-year-old will move to the Ligue 2 side on a three-year deal after spending just one season at the City Ground. In that time, he made 10 appearances - eight in the league.

He will move to Dijon for an undisclosed fee, though it is likely to be a small one given he is a fringe player under Steve Cooper and only has one year left on his contract. Silva joined Forest from West Ham last summer after spending the previous season on loan at Aris in the Greek Super League. He will now be moving on according to French newspaper L'Equipe.

Their journalist Loic Tanzi tweeted : He tweeted: "Xande Silva (25, under contract until 2023) will join Dijon and sign a three-year contract. This Portuguese winger was playing at Nottingham Forest after playing at West Ham. Transfer amount not disclosed."

Silva, the former Portugal youth international, will be hoping to kickstart his career in France after struggling to make an impact in England. He only made two appearances in three years at West Ham and spent much of his time there with their under-23 squad.

He becomes the third Forest player to leave for a fee this summer after the departures of Brice Samba (Lens) and Nicholas Ioannou (Como). Gaetan Bong, Tobias Figueiredo, Lewis Grabban and Carl Jenkinson all left on free transfers over the summer.
