Nottingham Forest are "not pursuing" a move for highly-rated Derby County's Festy Ebosele because of the Rams' stance of doing business with the Reds.
Serie A side Udinese are the latest team tipped to show an interest in the Rams defender who has caught the eye with his performances this season.
Forest were linked with a £500,000 move for the Rams academy graduate earlier this week, but the Rams have no intention of doing business with their arch-rivals according to Sky Sports.
And that is said to have stopped Forest from pursuing Ebosele having realised the Rams will not entertain any bids from the Reds just days after they beat Wayne Rooney's side 2-1 at the City Ground.
That has now left several clubs with the chance of landing Ebosele before the window shuts at the end of January although boss Wayne Rooney has made it clear no player will be sold without his say so.
Last week he sanctioned the exit of full-back Dylan Williams to Chelsea while Graeme Shinnie has also left Pride Park to join League One side Wigan for £30,000.
The Rams cannot bring anybody in either as they are still under a transfer embargo as a result of being in administration with the club desperately searching for a buyer.
Derby may be forced into accepting an offer for 19-year-old Ebosele with the defender, who can also play on the wing, out of contract in the summer.
However, the Rams will be entitled to compensation as he is under the age of 24.
