Nottingham Forest fans have been busy sharing their opinions on the latest takeover news coming out of Derby County.
Conversations are still ongoing over a takeover deal for the Rams but local businessman David Clowes emerged last night as the front-runner to complete a transaction having acquired the club's stadium.
The club has been on the lookout for a new owner since entering administration back in September last year. They looked to be closing in on a deal earlier this year as American Chris Kirchner was named as preferred bidder.

But that deal collapsed earlier this month when Kirchner withdrew his offer following a delay in the final stages of the takeover. The twist left the club’s administrators, Quantuma, having to restart their search for potential new owners.
Ownership of the Rams' Pride Park stadium had been one of the main stumbling blocks in completing a deal as former chairman Mel Morris had previously held the keys, but that hurdle has been cleared followed Clowes' intervention.
A spokesperson on behalf of the administrators said Clowes has also provided an interim loan to the club allowing Wayne Rooney and his staff to continue to trade and progress with their preparations for their season in League One.
This is what some Forest fans have been saying about it on social media...
@LukeWebster94: I've never seen anyone look more like a Derby County owner in my life.
@pichlarny1: I'm worried that derby won't be liquidated now
@SimonPepper4: At last some good news from down the A52, this Guy looks like the real deal-a massive relief for the club, you’ll soon be back scaring the bejesus out of us!!, happy for all the staff as well.
@burtnffc: imagine they’ve bought the stadium but don’t end up getting their bid accepted! it could end up a housing estate
@GarethJD: Good news for #dcfc Clowes is a trusted and respected businessman and looks a good fit for them. He’ll be a safe pair of hands. No supporters deserve to lose their club. Hopefully they can rebuild now.
@RandomForest44: Sounds good, he’ll have the interests of Derby in his heart. Better off with him than Ashley imo.
