Nottingham Forest face Premier League competition for Serie A midfielder

Nottingham Forest have again been linked with former Rangers loanee Lassana Coulibaly along with Leicester City, according to reports.

The Salernitana midfielder was previously linked with a move to the City Ground last year before the January transfer window. It was claimed at the time that Forest had put forward a £7 million bid for the 27-year-old.

Coulibaly has impressed in Serie A this season having been a regular fixture in the Salernitana team. The defensive midfielder has missed just three league games during the current campaign and has scored three goals alongside two assists.

And now Forest will return to try and sign him this summer according to Tuttomercatoweb. They claim that the Reds face competition from East Midlands rivals Leicester.

The report claims that Championship side Norwich City are also interested in signing Coulibaly. A hefty transfer fee is likely to be required as he still has three years left on his current contract at Salernitana.

Forest's chances of signing the midfielder may come down to the division they will be playing in next season as well as that of Leicester. Steve Cooper's side sit three points clear of the relegation zone with two games left whilst Leicester remain two points from safety with the same number of games left.
