Nottingham Forest are reportedly 'close' to sanctioning the loan transfer of midfielder Ateef Konate to Sunderland.
The 21-year-old made the move from French second division side Le Havre in September 2020 and made two senior appearances in the Carabao Cup last season, while his league debut came in the 3-0 Championship win over Barnsley.
He is now set to join Sunderland, according to journalist Alan Nixon. The Black Cats, who are targeting the play-offs, sit just one point outside the top-six in ninth place.

Amid previous interest in the 21-year-old last year, head coach Steve Cooper said: "There has been a lot of interest for Ateef for loans. We did talk about it personally, as well.
"Like all the young lads, he’s desperate to play in the first-team - and so they should be.
"You always try to make the right decisions for players, in terms of staying, moving them into the first-team squad or letting them go on loan. You always do it with the best intentions, whether they work or not is another thing."
