Nottingham Forest are said to be close to signing VfB Stuttgart midfielder Orel Mangala, as the club’s busy summer window continues.
An overhaul of the Reds squad has seen 11 new faces come through the door so far, and the shopping spree has not finished yet. Further business is expected as boss Steve Cooper puts together a squad ready for the top-flight.
Mangala could be the next arrival, according to Sky Sports in Germany. A move to the City Ground is said to be “nearing completion”, although with final details still “being haggled over”, a deal is not quite confirmed.

Sky report the general terms have “basically” agreed upon by all parties, with talks going on since Friday. A fee of more than 15m euros (about £12.7m) has been touted, with the expectation “the deal should go through”.
Crystal Palace and West Ham United have also been credited with an interest in the 24-year-old, who has two years left to run on his contract with the Bundesliga side. Forest winning the race for his signature would bolster their options in the centre of the pitch, where Lewis O’Brien has already been recruited from Huddersfield Town.
Mangala joined Stuttgart from Anderlecht in the summer of 2017. Last season, the Belgium international made 28 appearances in the Bundesliga.
In addition to O’Brien, Forest have brought in Taiwo Awoniyi, Dean Henderson, Giulian Biancone, Moussa Niakhate, Neco Williams, Wayne Hennessey, Omar Richards, Harry Toffolo and Jesse Lingard this summer. Brandon Aguilera has also put pen to paper but is viewed as one for the future and headed straight out on loan.
