Nottingham Forest 'agree' transfer deal as move imminent

Nottingham Forest have reached an agreement with Belgian side Anderlecht over a transfer for Harry Toffolo, according to reports.

The summer signing has been linked with a move away from the City Ground in recent days, just six months after signing from Championship side Huddersfield Town. The left-back has struggled for regular game time since making the move to the club in the summer.

The 27-year-old has featured 10 times in the Premier League so far this season, but was an unused substitute for the 2-0 win over Leicester City. He was then left out of the squad completely for last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Fellow new signing Omar Richard’s recovery from injury will likely see Toffolo fall further down the pecking order. He is therefore expected to seal a move away from the club in the final days of the transfer window.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano , the former Huddersfield man is now "set to sign" for Anderlecht from Forest after there was a "deal agreed" between the two clubs. He adds that the player is already in Belgium in order to finalise his move ahead of Tuesday night’s deadline.

It is not clear if the move would be a loan or permanent deal, but the news comes just days after it was claimed that Hull were in talks with Forest over a possible move.

Hull City manager Liam Rosenior spoke about a possible move for the defender over the weekend.

"Harry is someone who is a very, very good player,” he said . “He moved from Huddersfield to Nottingham Forest. For me, at the moment, I'm happy with the left-back department, I want to make that really clear.

"I've been very, very happy with Callum Elder and Jacob Greaves there, but there's always conversations and it's not a conversation in terms of myself, it's a conversation for Lee (Darnbrough, head of recruitment), for Tan (Kesler, vice-chairman) and the recruitment meetings.
