Nottingham Forest ace 'eyed' by Premier League rivals as importance of West Ham clash outlined

Nottingham Forest loanee Dean Henderson is reportedly on Tottenham's shortlist in their search for a long-term successor to Hugo Lloris.

The 25-year-old joined Forest in the summer on a season-long loan and caught the eye with his impressive performances, prior to injury. Henderson is currently sidelined with a muscular problem he sustained in Forest's 2-0 win over Leicester City in January.

Although he is set to return to Old Trafford in the summer, his future is yet to be decided. Sources suggest that United are set to sanction the sale of the likes of Anthony Martial, Scott McTominay, Donny van de Beek, Brandon Williams, Henderson and Harry Maguire.

Aurier impressing

Head coach Steve Cooper has underlined Serge Aurier’s importance to Nottingham Forest amid talks over a new deal for the defender.

The right-back penned a one-year contract when he joined the Reds as a free agent in September, having left Villarreal. Since then, he has become a regular in the first XI and has also proved to be a big influence in the dressing room.

Aurier is now facing a spell on the sidelines with a calf strain, after being forced off late on in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City. But he has confirmed discussions have been held with the club about extending his stay at the City Ground - something, it seems, Cooper would welcome.

“We’re very happy with Serge. We enjoy working with him. He’s had a real positive influence, both on and off the pitch,” said the Welshman, ahead of this Saturday’s clash against West Ham United.

Crunch clash

West Ham United boss David Moyes has emphasised the importance of Saturday's crunch game with Nottingham Forest.

The Reds make the trip to the London Stadium sitting five points clear of the relegation zone, in 13th place. Chris Wood's first goal for the club secured a vital point against Manchester City last time out.

Their opponents, meanwhile, are in the bottom three after last weekend’s 2-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur. But so tight is the bottom end of the Premier League table, should Steve Cooper's side lose in the capital, the Hammers would move to within two points.

There has been much speculation about Moyes' future in the build-up to the clash. He has not always had fans on his side this season, but he believes the crowd could make a difference on a potentially pivotal day.

Injury latest

West Ham United manager David Moyes has revealed that three players are back in training ahead of the weekend’s Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest.

The Reds make the journey down to the London Stadium on Saturday as they look to pull further away from the bottom three positions in the Premier League. There are currently five points between Forest in 13th and 18th placed West Ham.

Steve Cooper ’s side go into the game with a number of players unavailable due to injury. Full-back Serge Aurier was the latest to be added to what seems like an ever growing list, with Cooper confirming that he will be out for three to four weeks after picking up an injury in the closing stages of the 1-1 draw against Manchester City.

Forest have a total of 11 players on the list. Although both Jesse Lingard and Ryan Yates have returned to training and could be available for the game against the Hammers.
