Nottingham city centre chip shop gets food hygiene rating of 1

A chip shop in Nottingham city centre has been given a food hygiene rating of 1 out of 5 by inspectors. Frites 33 on Upper Parliament Street has been given the low rating.

The rating is just for that branch, and not the other Frites 33 shop in Derby (their most recent inspection had a rating of 3 after previously being rated 0). It was inspected by a food safety officer on March 1, and the findings have recently been published.

Food hygiene inspectors look at three areas. In this case, management of food safety was rated as 'major improvement necessary', with hygienic food handling, and cleanliness and condition of facilities and building, both rated 'improvement necessary'.
