Nottingham cheerleading team wins big at global competition in the USA

A Nottingham cheerleading team won a top prize at a major world competition in the USA. EMCA C-Lebrities took home a silver medal after finishing second in their category at The Cheerleading Worlds 2022 in Florida.

The team, which is made up of four male and 18 female cheerleaders aged between 14 and 30, competed against 24 others to gain their prize. Cheerleaders from more than 40 countries took part in the three-day event in Orlando.

EMCA C-Lebrities performed a two-and-a-half-minute routine in the final, which was their first time competing since forming in 2018. Co-owner and co-founder of East Midlands Cheerleading Academy, Helena Zarzycki, said: "I feel unbelievably proud and still in shock."
