Boxing Day has always been one of the busiest days for shopping, with the traditional post-Christmas sales offering cut-price deals. But some shops won’t be open on Boxing Day, giving their staff another day of respite instead.
A number of retailers have chosen to give staff both Christmas Day and Boxing Day off work. This is intended both as a reward for their efforts in the run-up to Christmas - by far the busiest time of the year for retail - and as a chance to spend time with family and friends.
So, if you’re planning a Boxing Day trip into Nottingham to take advantage of the sales, it’s a good idea to check to see whether your favourite shops are actually open. Here are some of the retailers that’ll be closing their doors on December 26.
