Staff at a Nottingham bar couldn't believe their luck when a customer left them a £1,000 tip. The customer, whose identify hasn't been revealed, made the generous gesture at Raglan Road Irish Bar in Derby Road.
The man, who was not a regular, had been watching the England vs Wales World Cup game in the pub over a few pints of Guinness. When it was time to pay for his £27.80 round, he added the huge tip to the bill to the amazement of the students working behind the bar.
Alana John-Lewis, 21, said: "As a student I was over the moon with that. He came in to watch the football and just left a really, really generous tip. With Christmas coming up it's amazing. It made our day. He can pop in any time of day.
