Nottingham and Nottinghamshire 2023/24 school term dates and holidays

Schoolchildren have just a few more weeks left until the 2022/23 academic year comes to a close, ushering in more than a month of summer holidays. Keeping track of all the breaks, inset days and half terms can be difficult so we've taken a look at the dates for 2023/24.

Some dates will likely change between differing schools, and it can also depend on your location, while some Catholic, Church of England and Hebrew schools also differ. Dates are also different between the city and the county.

For specific information on inset dates, you will need to check your school website, but the official term dates can be found below.

Nottingham city 2023/24

Autumn Term 2023

  • Starts: Friday, September 1
  • Half term: Monday, October 23 to Friday, November 3
  • Ends: Wednesday, December 20

    • Spring Term 2024

  • Starts: Thursday, January 4
  • Half term: Monday, February 12 to Friday, February 16
  • Ends: Thursday, March 28
  • Easter Weekend: Good Friday is March 29, and Easter Monday is April 1, schools are closed on both of these days

    • Summer Term 2024

    • Starts: Monday, April 15
    • May Day: Monday, May 6
    • Half term: Monday, May 27 to Friday, May 31
    • Ends: Friday, 26 July

    Nottinghamshire County Council 2023/24

    Autumn Term 2023

  • Starts: Friday, September 1
  • Half term: Monday, October 23 to Friday, November 3
  • Ends: Wednesday, December 20

    • Spring Term 2024

  • Starts: Thursday, January 4
  • Half term: Monday, February 12 to Friday, February 16
  • Ends: Thursday, March 28

    • Summer Term 2024

  • Starts: Monday, April 15
  • Half term: Monday, May 27 to Friday, May 31
  • Ends: Friday, July 26
