NEW DELHI: Afghanistan's Gulbadin Naib smashed a dazzling 23-ball 55 not out to take the third and final T20I in Bengaluru to a Super Over.
Chasing a massive 213 for victory, Gulbadin's herioc effort took the Afghans level to India's total but the former captain couldn't take his side across the line in the tight last-ball finish.
Although India pipped the visitors in the double Super Over thriller but Gulbadin's stunning fight gathered massive praise on social media.
Veteran India spinner R Ashwin too was in awe of Gulbadin's knock as he lauded his supreme effort while taking a dig at the Indian Premier League franchises.
The 32-year-old last featured in the auction process in 2018 and was ignored by all the franchises.
Alongside Gulbadin, openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran also scored fifties after Rohit Sharma record ton to make the dead-rubber one the greatest T20I clashes of all time.
The Afghans, however, failed to win the Super Over battles as India swept the series 3-0.
