You're probably mentally going through your summer checklist. Shorts? Check. Raffia bag? Check. Swimsuits? Check. There's one must-have item that you may have missed. We're talking about colorful silk scarves. They can be worn as an outfit accent around the neck, threaded through belt loops or even as tops. More frequently, however, they're utilized to highlight hair, either by completely covering heads or serving as an elastic-free way of securing ponytails.
There's one name synonymous with the accessory: Hermes. Arguably known just as much for its boldly designed scarves as its beloved Birkin bags, the former are less expensive, usually running between $285 to $770. A real deal considering Birkins carry price tags of thousands upon thousands of dollars. The French fashion house isn't the only designer brand in the mix. Louis Vuitton's hot-air balloon scarf is a personal favorite. Gucci's another strong contender, especially if you're a fan of florals. Etro is all over paisley prints, while Missoni's iconic zigzags really make its entry pop.
