Notebooks and burner phones exposed extent of national crime ring trading kilos of cocaine

A crime boss fled to Spain after a series of notebooks, tick-lists and 'burner phones' helped expose a crime ring used to sell multi-kilos of cocaine and cannabis nationwide.

The Merseyside based organised crime group used a network of drug runners to supply dealers in Scotland, Cumbria, Lancashire, Cornwall and elsewhere. Detectives believe there were multiple couriers who have never been identified.

Jamie Walsh, 37, described as the organiser of the sophisticated conspiracy, was first arrested in March 2018, when the National Crime Agency (NCA) raided his address in Eccleston, St Helens. He was bailed but decided to flee the country in April, 2019, and remained on the run until December, when he was detained in Spain.
